bruising or green mold?
    #5325357 - 02/21/06 06:56 PM (17 years, 11 months ago)

Yesterday I got my bulk tub out to check it's progress. I sat it down on top of my amp, forgetting it has a strap to pick it up by, and it cause the tub to bow--cracking the colonized substrate. but everything seemed to go back together in place.

Here's what it looked like yesterday..

does that all look normal? Last time I did bulk I didn't use a casing layer.. so this is my first experience with that.

And here's what it looks like today..

It seems to be bruising in the same places it craked, the only reasons I worry are:

1) this thing has been taking a long time to colonize. I don't think I used enough spawn.

2) I put the casing layer on before the substrate finished colonizing. I was going out of town and I thought it would surely finish up before I got back in 3 days.. so I went ahead and applied the casing layer.

3) It doesn't look the same shade as bruising I've seen in the past. This has much more of a green tint to it than a blue.

Sorry man! That's a mold. Disgard and start anew. From now on, never case an uncolonized substrate. Nothing but trouble like your seeing..
