    #5325002 - 02/21/06 05:49 PM (17 years, 11 months ago)

my b+ inoculated cakes mycelium has stopped growing. they are have about 30%-40% mycelium. Anybody have any advise on what I should do now. possibly mix and make a casing to incourage more growth?? I beleive it has stopped growing because the jars are starting to dry out. hope its not to late. advise is appretiated, ive tried searching the site to look for similar posts but no luck, thanks.

The only safe cure I've found is to make a liquid culture of the strain you are using and you can use that to rehydrate vermiculite containing substrates but the problem here is that you are introducing even more isolates than there was already with the multispore. This will just result in less even fruit production but your cakes might still pull through where otherwise they might not

hey... am i right in guessing you're not using 1/2 pint jars? when i used pint jars i had the same problem- i opened them up and the rest of the cake was just dried to a hard piece of crap... so my guess is there's not enough water/moisture/humidity in your jar. i broke mine off and cased the rest but i suppose you could use it to make a mycelium syringe or if you have a lot like that and you're fiendin' mix it with some cranberry and vitamin c, strain the substrate and drink- it'll fuck you up.
