Looks to me like a Pilocereus Azureus. Not active.

Well thanks for the info folks. It seems I am gaining quite the non-active collection. I may put some out for trade once I nail down the correct genus/species. Laters.....

Yeah, they tend to be very blue and pretty. All the ones I've seen, and most of the pictures I've seen have been that exact same size. Mine just won't frigging grow. Do they need tons and tons and TONS of light to initiate growth? Like, much more than trichocereus? Or was I just sold a cactus that is dying on the inside or something. Perhaps it needs different soil. Either way, I've had it a long time and it's more of a statue than a living thing.

Mine grew a little last summer, but only about 2 inches. They are definitely a very slow growing cactus, but they are very beautiful none the less.

Right now he is residing with my other ethnos. They are all in the basement under a 400MH. With no insulation in the walls of my "grow room" I get a nice 75deg lights on and 65deg off. After we get the last frost they are all going to the greenhouse.

a good rule of thumb is that the more blue a plant is the more light it can take, I have an azureus that really shines in full sun but a closely related pachycladus that starts to look a little faded during summer. At first the growth rates are comparible to Trichocereus plants but my ones slow down the more mature they get.
