a few movies have an encryption that dvd decrypter itself cannot break, if you run anyDVD in the background, they will work fine.

i use it by just installing it, and then running it so the icon is in the tray before using dvddecrypter to rip.....if it is working correctly, the part in dvddecrypter that usually says
CSS Key: C0 B3 56 F2 BA
should say
Key: N/A
since anyDVD removes the CSS from the dvd's somehow, dont know exactly how it works, but it does.

> since anyDVD removes the CSS from the dvd's somehow
CSS is an encryption used by the recording industry to prevent DVDs from being copied. It is a trivial system that was poorly designed leaving it open to attack and trivial to break. Each title on the DVD can have a different title key. The CSS key you provided is an example of a title key. Often, a DVD will have multiple title keys, one for each title on the disc. The title key is used to decrypt the various .VOB files on the DVD. The .VOB file is basically an mpeg2 stream with extensions added to allow for chapters, sub pictures (captions), etc. Once decrypted, the .VOB file can be saved and then read by any player in any region.
I have written quite a bit of DVD software, including a CSS decryptor. If you want a detailed explaination of how the system works, let me know... though I would need to bring in my notes. I don't have it all memorized. I can also answer most questions about the DVD-ROM specification, if anybody has any.

I've tried ANYDVD several times. Never seems to work for me. Even tried it with the Companion Clone DVD from the same company. Even it didn't see it working.
Evey time they come out with a new update, I try it with no luck. (That's about twice a week these days)
