Rolling in vermiculite allows for the cakes to pin easier, I believe.  Just make sure the cakes don't dry out and give them some light and plenty of FAE and you should be golden :thumbup:

I don't think it would do any harm to quickly dunk the cakes to get them wet and then roll them in some dry verm.  Or if they're already moist enough for the verm to stick to them then go ahead and roll those puppies!

A couple look like they could have used a few more days . The 2 that look like they have uncolonized sub. on top .

Hopefully the mycelium will be able to defeat anything that might try to get a foothold going .
