I was just wondering about the simco aerostat ion generator, is this item able to take the place of a hepa grade flow hood if i used it in a much smaller work space. I see that it has a fan so i figured It could work the same way. http://cgi.ebay.com/Simco-Aerostat-Guard...1QQcmdZViewItem
I was also wondering does this item actually kill the bacteria or just make it drop to a surface so you can wipe it with alcohol?

I use a Simco aerostat XC (above).
They do NOT filter air. (some particulates do stick to the emitters)
They charge particulates in air, so they stick to surfaces. (where Lysol, or Oust can kill them)
I would not buy that big sucker.
If you want to use one. Wait & get an XC. You see them on the block - now & then for around $35. (be patient).
They will not suffice as, or replace a hepa filter, or F/H.

Alright appreciate the info agar, thought i might be able to save myself some money by using one of these in a flowhood.

You can also find a ghetto ozone tek a little further down.
Ozone kills germs and contaminants, not just collects them.
