mortar and pestle very dry mushies??

Wonder if grinding dry mushies into a homogenized powder would do anything bad to them chemically? i am asuming since the grinding is a physical change not a chemical change nothing would happen, but rather make sure in case there i something im unaware of... thanks

though mortar and pestle is a little old school
