Temp ranges for PCs

When do PCs start showing up?
In NC, we'll start getting wet weather in April and
the heat sometimes kicks in around May. If daytime temps are around 60-65F
and nightime temps are around 45-50 will that be enough for the PCs to start popping up or will we have to wait for higher day temps?

Generally they start to fruit in mid to late spring, unless your in fla where they grow year round. When the lows are in the 60's and the highs around 70-80 degrees the cubes will be out as long as the precip is there. You shouldn't be looking for fruiting temps though, you should be asking about fruiting range because cubes don't grow in NC. You'll have to travel to the southern half of SC to find cubes.

Psilocybe caerulipes is said to grow in NC, you could also find plenty of Panaeolus subbalteatus come spring time. The subbs will start to fruit around late march early april in your area.

Hey LK, what are your opinions on the Pan Subbs this year around the CSRA? We been getting a lot of moisture, and weird warm wheather.

Hey buddy (P.G.F.),

We (here at the shroomery) have seen pics of Cubes fruiting during the aftermath of freezing temps in central Oklaholma.

And if i live in North Carolina i would certainly be in the fields.

After it rains heavy,,,the shrooms grow.

-Find a few local fields, and visit them regularly.

I plan one going to Fla to shroom hunt. When is the best time to go. Also how much could I pick in one week ( 1pound?)
