This is a very simple question and i gotta swallow a little pride to ask this one, b/c it makes me look like the ultimate newb but i see a lot of people talking about taking their jars and spawning it to poo or to some kind of substrate. Is spawning something more than just taking the colonized mycelium and mixing it with a substrate in order for the mushies to grow or is there some special process to it? I only see it mentioned with whole grains or bird seed but I never see it mentioned with the BRF/Verm.

You got it man. People usually take their fully colonized cakes, crunble them up, and mix with something good. Most use WBS/rye because it mixes easier.

ok, also a newb here, but it seems that people do the crumbling when moving to the fruitring chamber, whereas some people just leave the jar shaked cape as it is... i will be using the PF tek soon, what is the standard procedure?

Spawn is a substrate (WBS/BRF/Hpoo) that is colonized with Mycelium.
Substrate is the material on which a fungus grows on.
So the substrate is no longer a substrate once it's colonized, then it's consider a spawn,
Which means to produce mycelium especially in large numbers.
That is part of it at least I think
