Flying Dreams. Weee!
    #531556 - 01/25/02 11:52 PM (21 years, 7 months ago)

Hey, maybe we should start a flying dream thread? I've been gettting a buttload of them. First, I will know the flying dream is about to go off when I end up lying straight on my back. Second, I noticed everytime I'm about dip into the dream (I mean fast exit from conscious to unconscious in seconds) I can see the ceiling in my room. The difference is it looks a warpy, liquidity visual domain. Third, I can feel unusual body sensations moving all around my body, feels like I'm getting pulled down.

There other transitional stages that did not include the above visual domain.

As for flying dreams, I have only semi-control and the dream scenes are quite lucid and change pretty fast.. I've seen some stunning landscapes that I know I can never see when I'm awake. When I wake up, my whole body is buzzing with this seemingly cool breeze layer traversing above my body's skin.

Anyone else like to share?

I have flying dreams on a pretty much regular basis. There really isn't any limits when it comes to dreams, I can do pretty much whatever I think of. Lately I have been finding myself climbing around on walls and ceilings a lot. The flying dreams come in all shapes and sizes, during dreams I don't walk around, I fly.... similar to how they chase each other in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. You know...running up walls and trees...jumping hundreds of feet...running on water..flying around..that kind of thing. I love flying so much, its the greatest thing!

A recent one I had I was just gliding around over this crystal blue endless ocean, and there were all of these huge skyscrapers coming out of the sea. I was playfully swooping down and back up, and gliding in between the buildings just for practice I guess.

Flying dreams are wonderful

Unlike some people, I can hardly ever lucid dream. I studied lucid dreaming for a while, and about 2 months ago, I finally got one.
I was in my house, and my mom was talking to a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist was telling her that she was dreaming and that she could be aware she was dreaming if she would just listen. I figured out, from that, that if my mom was dreaming, and she appeared to be awake, I must be dreaming too. As soon as I realized this, my world started spinning around and I thought I was going to lose it. For some reason I remembered what I read about when this happens, and I started spinning around as fast as I could. It worked, and I was in the lucid state. I still had very little awareness but i knew I was dreaming. I was on the ground (from spinning I guess) and I decided to do a backflip back on to my feet. It worked! I'm usually a very unathletic and unflexible person, so it confirmed my lucid state. Then I went out to my front yard, ever wary of losing it, and I tried to fly, but I tried from a standing start, and I read that it helps if you try to run and glide your first time, so I failed. Then, sadly, I lost lucidity.

D: Oh well, maybe next time...

Next time try to be playful, just jump around and try to do things you couldnt do in normal life like walking on water.

i had been reading a fair amount on lucid dreaming a few months ago and experienced between 5-10 dreams where i was either partially or quite lucid. most times when i realize i'm in a dream i start flying everywhere. it's a fantastic feeling to go shooting through the air to the top of a fifty story building! flying is my favorite part of dreaming - sadly i have not had any lucid dreams lately and i'm starting to have difficulty simply remembering my dreams the next day =/

I have a theory that if you fall asleep listening to Bach and some good incense burning it will assist the lucid dreaming.

i get flying dreams at least every couple of months..i always wake up with my body buzzing too..and sometimes i cant hold my eyes open and will fall back asleep..and when im falling back asleep my head will be buzzing so hard i can hardly stand it.usually in my flying dreams i start off by spinning around in a circle motion in the air just above the ground.my body will be verticle but coiled into a circle. then ill tell myself to fly somewhere..the last one i had i told myself to fly through the roof and when i flew through the roof i ended up right where i started..pretty crazy
