Bigger PF Substrate Containers

I'm currently using the short and fat 1/2pint jars for all PF style jars. I wouldnt mind using some larger containers. I've currently seen two things:

1. Ziplock containers -- circular clear bottom blue lids, 414mL capacity.
2. Gladware containers - rectuangular, clear bottoms and lids, 709ml.

They both can be used in the microwave, freezer, dishwasher but both warn against stovetop use.

Will I need to look into something glass? I know we have pyrex glass bowls that i'm sure could be pressurecooked and I could fit 2 or 2.5 PF jar substrate in them. Would the colonization time be increased?

They would take longer to colonize.

microwave sterilizations are a little risky in my opinion, but it can be done... Remember that a lot of containers claim to be microwave safe, but can't be relied upon for long pasteurization times.

Pint jars are usually the biggest size growers want to use due to contam probs and long colonization times.
