Manual or Automatic
    #5314629 - 02/18/06 09:06 PM (17 years, 11 months ago)

ok so my sorry ass is very bored, and I am not going out tonite.  i dont expect to get many replies but whatever.

Anyway, ive been learning how to drive manual on a 5 speed camry.

At first i stalled like crazy, but not anymore.

I dont stall, but the ride isnt so smooth, but ill get better at it no doubt.  Now I find driving standard is fun, yet fuckin tedious at times.

I personaly like automatic for the fact that I can get crazy stoned and not have to worry about shifting or stalling.  I do however like the control I have driving standard, but it gets so annoying sometimes (in the city).

I just wanna know what all u fools prefer, manual or automatic, and why.

sorry for this useless post

(any manual driving fool-proof tips would be appreciated)

manual is way better for me. but if i had a tedious bumper to bumper commute everyday id take the automatic for sure.

lol!
my pecs are hairy.... and my left pec is bigger than my right pec.

do you shave??
you shave your nipples dont you

anyhow... automatic, just because im lazy and would hate being in a manual and in traffic. but if i lived in the country i might go for manual, who knows.

Manual for me.  I dont give a shit about cars, so what ever will get my from point A to point B with the least amount of hassel.  I have other things to worry about.

manual is 50 times more fun to me. it makes me feel like im doing something, when i got my license i was so anxious and scared i thought i would crash not knowing what to do, it was as easy as walking. when i drive a stick, i feel like im doing something, im one with the car, you know helping it. i also feel cool because none of my friends know how to drive one and it makes me look cool. one time everyone was drunk and stoned off their ass and i took the keys and drove my friends lancer like a fuckin madman, best drive ever.....

definitely go with manual...if youre driving and smoking you its not that big of a deal to just wait until youre in fourth or fifth gear to start hitting the bowl...in other words, when you would be shifting a lot is at stop signs and the beginning of roads...although sometimes yes it is a hassle, i think the fact that its cheaper, more control over the vehicle, less chance of your car getting stolen, and impress your friends...= go with manual and smoke once youre in the right gear...no biggie... or roll joints or something.

Get a four speed manual the gears are preaty long so in city driveing you just use 1 and 2 for up to 0-35 for stop and go 3rd for 35-45 and 4th 45+. They are much less tedious and fun for somking weed in than a 5-6 speed. The also get better gas mileage. My 1989 maza 323 got 30-40mpg city. Cars now adays are just starting to advertise that. 4 speeds are the best of both worlds. A driving enthusists stoner's dream.

i just learned stick shift a few months back and i definetly prefer it. i dont like it for city driving mind you but i feel i have much more control with the 5 speed, and i can accelerate much faster should i feel the need.

not that i race around or drive fast or anything :smile2:

I grew up driving a stick shift and it always seemed natural to me until I got my first car with auto transmission. I don't think I'll ever drive a stick shift again, too much of a hassle for me now.
