doesnt look contaminated to me, I may be wrong, but I would recase a small layer, and incubate for like 2 days, then stick it back in the fc.

I'd give it a little more fresh air exchanges, give it some good light exposure 12-16hrs. and in the mean time read my pinning strategy and have patience. I wouldn't recase it that will just confuse the myc at this point it will still fruit bro.

My mycs have started pinning. The pinning does not appear to be growing even, or maybe I am judging too soon.. i dunno.. but here are some pics of the progress..
Think I should patch up a bit?

You'll have decent flushes. I see some areas that will definitely have clusters with nice yields just remember keep that RH high at this point and keep us updated your not done pinning yet bro! Nice job!

BTW I would pick that early volunteer ASAP in the middle there that one will zap the energy for your first flush! And delay it. Trust me you'll be glad you did!!!! BTW you could really damage your beautiful pinset there by patching! Get it out of your head PLEASE!

Hyphae, when you say pick that first mushie ASAP do you mean like "NOW" ? It is much bigger than any of the other pins ( about 2-3 inches now). If you say it needs to go, than it will go tonight. I will post some more pics as well.
And the thought of patching is well gone by now (BTW what are my chances of getting contams at this point)?

Yep pick that one yesterday! I wouldn't worry about contams at this point as long as your taking the usual precautions.

I wish I could have pics because this is an unusual situation now..
I had about 7 shrooms ready (more than ready) to harvest. They were umbrelled and I noticed spore deposits ( black slimy stuff under the cap). Anyways, my shrooms were not that big, they were thin maybe 4-5 inches, which is actually normal.. But the unsual thing was that there were many miniature shrooms growing as well. There was actually some that looked like they were in pinning stage that had a cap that split from the veil already! This was not the case for just one or two, its happening to a couple. I also noticed some aborts ( black caps) that i trashed. There is some overlay (gray and hard myc) that I am cutting up. Any ideas?

Maintaining a healthy casing is an art in itself. Now remember you are creating a number of flushes with your initial pinset. Keeping the casings properly hydrated will help prevent the gray hard myc. Picking any early volunteers can also help the overall cause because remember you want your biggest flushes in the first two flushes this is the most optimal all around after that it's all bonuses!
