What to choose: 12 pre-made grain bags, or make own tennstud bags?

With the major failure of two large (10lb each) grows of spawned tennstud.... I am reverting back to bags. I'm unsure which is the best deal, though.
Deal 1) A dozen pre-made bags, each "contain our own mix of whole grains and seeds. The bags contain approximately 1 pound of substrate." This is $100
Deal 2) Buy pre-past tennstud for about $50 for 15lbs (according to hydro's tek each 5lbs of tennstud+spawn is enough for 4 bags or so), but the bags from sporeworks for $15 or so, and buy an impulse sealer for $30 or so.
both options are going to cost about $100. pre-made bags are a straight shoot and go and no other effort on my part. What im wondering is how much better spawned tennstud would work in bags versus the pre-made grain bags, and if the much added effort is worth it... back in the day the first bag i ever did got 1oz dry on the first flush, it was a grain bag i believe.

Well I think you should make your own, I just think of the premade are only good if this is a one time thing.
You'll learn more that way, best to figure out what the problems were from.

I have a pressure cooker. I've done bags, casings, bulk grows.... going back to bags. Don't grow too often just like to have a little for personal use... The price is the same if I get the tennstud when you add in the impulse and the empty bags. It seems its only more effective if I want to buy more tennstud in the future to make more. But I also have to consider my time in pressure cooking substrate and making the bags.
Sigh, I'll ponder it a bit more this weekend then make the purchase(s) next week.

chose to buy the componets and make the bags at home. For the same cost, the benefits of doing poo vs grain and 1lb bag vs 2lb bag won. Just waiting to order tennstud now

if you're married, do the premade. if you aren't, you should have enough free time to make your own

There is a sign down the road that says "Free Manure", but I still jump the neighbor's fence anyhow. It's just Priceless like that.
Takes roughly 5 minutes to bag about 30lbs of DRY horse manure.

30lb pre-past 50/50 tennstud - $75 shipped 12" impulse sealer - $40 shipped 25 large grow bags - $18 shipped 20lb WBS - $6 Total - $139
According to hydro's tek it should make 24 2lb bags when the spawn is mixed in (4 pints and 5lb of tennstud = 4 bags). Seems like the better choice, getting heavier bags composed of quality dung and straw vs grain, and twice as many bags, for $39 more.
Thx
