Germinating kratom seeds?

I got the opportunity to purchase some hopefully fresh kratom seed pods for a price worth risking. I understood the chances of getting the seeds to germinate are slim yet I wanted to try anyways. I plan on documenting the germination here should it happen at all. The pods I received are indeed Kratom seed pods resembling those found here Kratom seed pods.
The photo on erowid is actually the small kratom pods each of which contain close to 100 tiny seeds.

I prepared a place to germinate the little seeds with some peat moss and paper towels. It would be easiest this way to control the temperature of the substrate.

I then dusted the tiny seedlings onto the damp substrate, folded it up, and placed it inside a plastic baggie. The baggie is now set up on thermal heat tape with a rheostat to control a constant barely warm to the touch temperature.

I am not quite sure what to do once they begin germinating if they even do. I imagine I will cross that bridge when I get there. Anyone have any ideas, criticisms, or concerns?

Take those seeds out of the paper towel pronto. Sow them on top of the peat moss in high humidity. Keep it wet and use some fungicide.

I mentioned this in another thread yesterday, but it seems there are two distinctly different types of pods being labelled as m. speciosa. Based on certain pictures of the plant in flower it seems that that might be the pod of a different species. That doesn't mean the resulting plant will not be worth growing....but there is a mixup at hand.
Those seeds should be surface sown on in a pot of rich potting soil. At this point, you may have messed them up, but you can try scattering your mix on the surface and hope there are seeds that didnt get buried too deeply.

What is the absolute optimal germination temp for these? I ordered 50 seeds from Botanical Spirit and planted them about 11 days ago. They have been getting filtered sunlight, high humidity, and about 75 deg average temps (never getting below 60 deg). So far I can't see any sprouts. Should I try to crank the temp up a bit? They were advertised being as fresh as could be obtained. Thanks--

Okay, it's been 13 days and I have seen a few different things come up. I was wondering if anyone can give me a positive kratom ID on this image. Unfortunately, my soil had a few weed seeds in it, but I have a few of these and 'hoping' they are the real deal. For size reference, that is perlite next to it. Help me ID!

i don't think he is saying that this particular seedling is 13 days old...
it could be kratom, but equally it could be any number of other seeds in the mix that popped.
OP: patience is a virtue, when it has grown 2 sets of leaves it should be easy to tell for sure, just wait and see.

Well unfortunatly, I just noticed that it looks like a weed seedling in another pot (and one which I didn't plant kratom in). Rats!!:(
Vendor tells me it can take up to several weeks for these to germinate, but that is not what I am finding typical germination time from my internet research.

i've grown kratom from seed, the germ time is 1 - 2 weeks, it could take a bit longer though.
tell us what your germination conditions are.
and yeah read the forum rules mate, vendor dicussion is not allowed unless they are a shroomery sponsor.
