Time for searching for poo?

The last two months have been raining every two days more or less. Now we have more sunny and windy days. Is now the time to go for poo? BTW I only can get h/poo from outdoors piles, and the last time I went I found that about 50cm deep in the pile the poo was quite hot and with many white spots (Firefanf I suppose), and there was no muffins, but full of small nuggets and some thin bricks. So I think that to pick those little nuggets by hand would be a pain in the ass.
So is ok to fill the bags with a shovel? The part that isnt nuggets is mostly straw and maybe a bit of soil...
and is ok to incubate the H/poo in autoclave bags with microfilter? what temp shoul I put the heater in the room?
How do I know if the poo has to much nitrogen?
Thanks in advance

Any time is good to gather h/poo. So long as you treat it right, after you gather it.
Just remember, to gather h/poo that still has a high fiber content. (you don't want it degraded into a dirt/soil/mud consistency).
No need to just gather nuggets. As long as what you do gather is high in FIBER.

Hell, I shovel in a pick up truck load.
Take it home. Empty it out on a flat spot, with good drainage.
Rake it out about 2 inches deep.
Spray it down with a hose.
Then, leave it to dry.
After a few days, or a week, I rake it around, to insure it gets turned over & dry everywhere. Rake it around - several times - if need be.
Depending on your weather, it should dry out naturally. Hot sunny days help it dry much FASTER.
You can tell when it's primo, simply by SMELL & FEEL.
It should FEEL dry & SMELL about like good garden soil.
Once, it's like that. You can store the dry stuff in burlap bags. (which breath & allow it to stay dry, instead of molding).
If you are talking about incubating h/poo that spawn has been added to, in filter/patch bags. I would suggest a temperature around 72/74F. As, they will generate a LOT of heat, by themselves.
It is also better to have the bags incubating on wire or wood slat racks, rather than a hard flat surface. As, that allows air to move all around the bags, at a constant temp. Otherwise, the bottom half the bags heat up on a flat surface (which insulates it).
