2 Employees Get Implanted With Chips
    #5309563 - 02/17/06 05:42 AM (18 years, 3 months ago)

http://www.spychips.com/press-releases/us-employees-verichipped.html

I think this is the best place to post this.

Quote:

TWO U.S. EMPLOYEES INJECTED WITH RFID MICROCHIPS AT COMPANY REQUEST
Government Contractor Adopts Controversial VeriChip Implant in Workplace

Cincinnati video surveillance company CityWatcher.com now requires employees to use VeriChip human implantable microchips to enter a secure data center,

First it was peoples pets, which I do not have a problem with. Then they tried pushing this on parents as a way to protect their children in case they get abducted or lost. I can see some merits in that as well as some dangers, as in what if everybody decided to do it. It would mean the entire next generation would be implanted. But now they are being used as a requirement for employment. This slope keeps on getting slipier and slipier.

But the one thing that really bugs me about this story is this:

Quote:

"It worries us that a government contractor that specializes in surveillance projects would be the first to publicly incorporate this technology in the workplace," said McIntyre. CityWatcher provides video surveillance, monitoring and video storage for government and businesses, with cameras set up on public streets throughout Cincinatti.

It is worth noting that every other news source that I have seen covering this story has left out that little piece of information.

So the very same company that is implanting RFID chips into the arms of it's employees is the same company that monitors all of the surveillance cameras that are set up on the streets of Cincinnati.

Coincidence???

The FDA approved the chips for human use a week or two ago... it was only a matter of time...

I don't agree with it.

However (I think I mentioned it in another thread); I was under the impression this was private company. As such, they can do what they wish.

A private company that has the government contracts to monotor the citizens of Cinncinnati with surviellance cameras though.

But yeah, if a private company wants to implant chips into their employees I guess that is well within their rights.

We all know that it is only a matter of time before these are implanted into babies at birth. Everything will eventually be keyed into them... want money from the ATM, want to cash a check at the bank, want to get a drivers license or buy a home... gotta have the chip to verify who you are...

Yeah, I joined the military before I ever even tried weed and even then I got out before the shit was too deep and too thick to get out of. Now more than ever I get pissed off about this stuff.

I have a feeling that I'm going to become a hermit before my days are over.

Yup. The government's whole concept on making things illegal is by making people feel guilty until they give in and give up rights.

my theory is that it wont be required on birth, but citizens who get chipped will get the "good faith citizen discount" which would mean 50% off gas, 50% off groceries, etc. Plus you cant use any public facilities or get any sort of public or government assistance without a chip.

that way you never require them by law.. you just make it more convenient to get chipped than to resist. Sort of like having a social security number now.

I have never thought of that before but that is a good theory.

Look at the discount cards that all of the grocery stores have today. If you want to take advantage of the sale price you have to use their card. And calling it a "sale" isnt really accurate either. Studies have shown that these so called "saving card prices" are actually higher than the everyday prices these stores had before they introduced their "savings cards."

and all the while, those cards are slowly storing and analyzing not only your shopping habits and the effect of advertisements / promotions, but also your diet. and the types of things you buy. for instance, if you were under investigation for, oh.. lets say drug distribution (i know thats a stretch for you guys, but there are bad people out there...)

if albertsons has you buying a 180 pack of foldable sandwich baggies every week, that type of thing can be used against you in a court of law. Depending on your diet, and the types of personal care produts / medications you purchase any store employee could reasonably be able to figure out almost everything about you.

Before you know it, there will be stores that wont even let you in unless you have some form of RFID (even if its not an implant) that allows a sensor to check your credit / account balance first.

These chips will be great for the war on terror!
I can't wait for George Bush to shove a chip up my ass so he can monitor my colon for suspicious packages! The literal pain in my ass will be well worth the feeling of security.

> my theory is that it wont be required on birth

I would agree... not required by law... but it will be just like a social security card in the US... try to get a job, open a bank account, get a telephone, anything at all, without a social security card, and you might as well just pound your head on the wall instead. The same way that most babies are issued a SSN at birth, most babies will be 'chipped' at birth.

I'm not a big fan of the tin hat crowd, but going out on the 'way out there' branch...

These chips can transmit around five to ten meters (15 to 30 feet). Put a receiver in a call phone, along with the GPS chip of the phone, and 'the man' now knows who and where everybody near a cell phone is located. Very unlikely, as the power requirements would be impractical, but still, an interesting thought.
