jars have almost colonized
    #5307663 - 02/16/06 04:20 PM (17 years, 11 months ago)

some of my brf jars are done and a few others are almost done

what would happen if I went ahead and gave them indirect sunlight?

the ones tha arent fully done yet like 90%

should I wait for them to catch up and do em all at the same time?

or just put the ones that are done out and wait for pinning before birthing them?

Whatever you do dont birth them until they're 100%. If you want to hold off on the ones that ARE done, put them in the fridge. This will stall pinning.

so what if I remove the blanket thats keeping the sun out before that last 2 jars are 100% colonized?

best to keep them all covered until they are all 100%??

It would be best to keep them out of light, and also it sounds like your trying to initiate pinning before you birth them, unless your growing invitro you dont want to do this let it pin in the fruiting chamber..

Introducing light could start the pinning process and even grow.

You dont want that,

I allways have, that mycelium ate up a lot of the water in your jars this brings them back to optimal level.

Wait until your jars are FULLY colonized, then give it a couple more days in the incubator to make certain that the center of your jars are 100% colonized. Birth. Dunk and roll as djsage recommends, and place the cakes in your FC. DO NOT wait for pins to form before birthing.
