spray casing??

This is my 2nd time casing and first time with a hunidifier. When i initially placed the casing in the FC, I ran the humidifier 24/7 and noticed the myc that poked through was extremely fuzzy. Now it is set up so when it hits about 80% RH the humidifier turns on til it's back up to HI. I touched an uncolonized portion of the casing today and it was very dry. But the myc is seeming to still be taking over fast. I really wish my camera wasn't broken. Should I spray the casing at this point...or not worry about it?

They will tell you not too, but I will spray the myc down with water, until I see little white dots forming, I would go ahead and spray it down, get it nice and damp, just make sure to STOP spraying when you see the dots forming, you will know what im talkin about when you see it. just dont make puddles...

Yes you can spray it down to "near saturation" but do it with a pumpup type sprayer ($7-8) and adjust it until an ultrafine mist is obtained then from a distance wave this mist several times over the casing, do this several times over a period of time not all at once, in other words bring up the moisture content slowly. This will perserve your casings microclimate and will work perfectly. Read my casing strategy to learn more. GL

Oyster Shell "Flour" $2 for 1lb. a hell of a deal Not what is overlay but rather what overlay is Gas Exchange vs. FAE "We all have priorities. I used a closet once setup a nice little lab trouble was all the shit that was in there ended up in the bedroom that pissed off the GF then I ended up dumping her as she was getting in the way of my sterile culture technique! Ya I got priorities too!!!"

yes, you want the casing to be moist...NOT dry. do spay, but not too much...only to the point where it looks a little moist.
