Well about a week ago Id say, I birthed my first cake but I havent noticed any visible inprovement only more 'cottony' mycellium growth on its sides... I know I dont have such a great setup and for tis reason I thought maybe my cake was a bit dry... After inspecting it a bit closer I did noticed it felt and looked dry specially on the top so my question is, should I dunk my cake even if it hasnt had its first flush? Or just mist the hell out of my terarrium?... The weather here is about 70*F and humidity in my fc doesnt look so great even though I have a perlite setup...
What to do, what to do?

thanks, thats all I really needed to know... so regular tap water in a airtight plastic container 12-24 hours in the fridge oughtta do the trick right?

You really don't need to place it in the fridge. Room temp. water should be just fine. The added cold might delay things just a little bit.
Good luck.

i found dunking for the first flush is not required... 2nd 3rd and 4th it should be done. but if your cakes seem dry it might be a good idea, try dunking for a few hours..

try spraying down your cakes with some H20, because he is our best friend, at least once a day. fanning out your FC helps out real well to. you have any pics of your fc?
