Hey fellas how goes it. I just built my poor mans pod woot oot. ok now I got a rubber maid container and the lid seems to fit loosely on this kind of tub so if you have seen these kinds in real life be for could you tell me if I really need to cut holes in the top lid or not? I think maybe enough air can ex cape on its own.

Happy Growing and thanks for the help!

I use the same tub. 66qt rubbermaid tub. anyways don't even bother with the holes. air escapes out the top because of the lid design. good luck on the grow.

'Ex cape' is that like the cape from a retired super hero? hehe Just teasing you man.
From what I've read I would guess that if you left it how it is, you will need to open it, fan and mist it, occasionally. Read up on the basic cultivation techniques for exactly how to do that.

One thing I did notice thenewguy05 that your FC's have water right to the top of the hydroton which makes the using hydroton redundant as you've lost all that beautiful surface area. I have to say though those fruits don't seem to mind it too much though. Looking great other than the water level, nice job!

Thanx!!! I am lazy sometimes and those bins only get watered every 2-3 weeks so i do like a fill and flush type thing.
you would be dissapointed if you saw my setup right now, water is almost upto the pan on a 5 3/4inch substrate(substrate was dry by the way) so i figured if i left enough water in there it would wick it into the substrate which it did thank god. originally i had it in mind that the hydroton would act like a platform for the tray and the water would act simmialr to the airstone in a waterbottle theory.
like you said... the fruits don't seem to mind.

It's used for hydroponic growing and is at most any hydro shop. In fact if they didn't carry it it really isn't much of a hydro shop.
