i know this guy .. he wanted to know best way to send a culture via mail .. he also wanted to know how long can it last being air tight ?

Probably the easyest way is to transfer a piece of colonized agar to a small plastic ziploc bag.

It kepps in fridge this way for months/for longer periods put it in several more layers of plastic to prevent drying out) and outside it?s good for as long the shipment lasts(up to 1 week, even more)
