brown-green fungus, not the normal green stuff....

Well, I've been searching the boards for something that could discribe what one of my jars contained, however I couldn't find anything along the same description.

Im using BRF+Verm as a substrate, with a jug and aquairium heater in a plastic cooler to keep my temp @ a sustained 82 degrees.

I finally caught one of my jars with this very brownish (a little green tinge) sour-milk type smell. I could hardly see it because it blended in with the uncolonized portion of the cake so well.

I wish I had pictures, however it looked like crumbled "Grape Nuts" (cereal) in my jars. Anyways, I took it out and thew it in my garden. I dout it will grow, due to the cold temperatures, however if anything grew, could I use the spores from that fruit, or even eat it?

Also, anyone have info on what this contamination could be?

you could use the spores, but dont eat it. But like you said, they probably wont grow anyway.

As for the identification of your contam, there are thousands of species of molds, its not suprising that odd types come up every now and then.
