I agree 100% May we can discern from the source what strain or variety the seeds may be, or where they originated.
The U.S. storehouse is already receiving requests for seeds, so keep those donations rolling in.

I've read your thread but I seem to be alittle thrown off.
I'm looking for some seeds and do I fill out a request form (hand written), mail it in with $1 and wait till they get sent to me, or do I need to do some interactions with the donators ( or does that only apply to cuttings?)?
Thanks if your willing to answer my simple yet silly questions, just really looking into some cacti seeds right now!

Disco Cat said: When the ordering starts: Send $1 in an envelope to the storehouse closest/most convenient to you with the type of seeds you wish to receive, and also an email address in case we need to contact you concerning the seeds. Depending on our supply and how much people donate, this $1 will allow you to receive one, to three kinds of seeds - otherwise we might be giving away too many seeds to too few people. This is a system that we'll find the proper balance for later, as experience gathers.
Right now we are trying to get the site up and running before we post an available list. You can send your dollar and request at any time but we may not have your requested seeds available. So if you are looking for a specific type of seed stock you should probably wait for the site and availability list.

We would gladly accept any and all donations sent in. We are now trying to build our seed stock and ready our web site and availability list. If you would like to be recognized as a contributer please enclose your screenname with your donation. We do ask that all seeds be labeled with the full latin name if possible. Ah, cool. Great idea. I had about seven small cacti last week that had their roots eaten by neems. Fuckers. Looking back on it, I should have just shared earlier.

The US ring-house received a request that we cannot fill. The request was for peyote, san pedro, salvia, or wormwood - none of which are listed as in stock on our site. If there were an email addy or forum screenname we'd message whoever the request belongs to, to let them know. llamabox is going to return the request to the sender with a note of explanation in it.
Our seedlist is a little messy right now, so sorry if that caused the confusion. If this is your request and you'd like to change it to something that we're currently carrying then you can message llamabox (do so quickly), or use the site email, and we'll send those seeds to the address given in the envelope.
Laters!

Hi pH, Seeds are freegame for anyone, while we chose a trade system for the cuttings to ensure that people taking them are not doing so for a quick fix instead of growing them. Still, we might change things a bit.
As far as I know llama has a bunch of inactive cacti which aren't yet listed in the cuttings section.
Also, thanks for volunteering your webpage abilities, if we ever need help we'll let you know

At the moment we have not had any active cuttings donated. If however you would another type of cacti we have had about a dozen different types of non-ethno cacti donated. I have not listed them on the site yet, as I am still awaiting confermation on a couple species ID's. If interested just PM me and I will tell you what they are and PM you pics.

I will be donating Datura Innoxia, Ipomoea Pupurea, Ipomoea Tricolor & Papaver Somniferum seeds ASAP. I may also donate a cutting of my Passion Flower (Passiflora Incarnata). How would I go about packaging it so that it does not die? Could someone give me more info on shipping cuttings, thank you? Also, is it okay if I just send in 5 dollars now as an advance payment for seeds/cuttings I may request in the future?

I find the best way is to ship rooted cuttings in a plastic bag with wet moss or newspaper. Leave the leaves sticking out of the bag. I have also seen people use soil-less gel to root cuttings. You can root these in deli cups with a hole in the top just large enough for the stem to go through. The only thing you should have to worry about is drastically low temps in the dead of winter. I have seen small heat packs packed with bare root plants before. Just be sure they have moist roots and will only be in transit for 1-2 days. Cacti however, once the cutting is calloused over it should be OK to ship just as is with a little bit of padding of course.

OK folks, I am having a tuff time securing donations, so I put in a large seed order. I will be receiving 600 T. pachanoi & T. terscheckii seeds. I had an offer for a couple salvia cuttings, so they will be available in the next month or so. I also have passiflora seeds and vine cuttings coming in. I believe I have nailed down Id's for most all of our cacti & succulents, and will be posting a few on the cuttings page by the end of the week. None of them are Tricho's so these will be for our true cacti lovers. I hope you all stop in and check us out. Laters.....
