had a few questions about fruiting some poo cakes i had. I had one that had colonized a quart jar so i took it out and just put into FC, seems to be fine 3 days later. But i also have almost completely colonized regtangular 8 x 4 or so tupperware containers, now can i take these out of the container and just fruit as is or should i put a light casing layer over? Thanks

I would put a casing layer on the tubberware container. You can fruit it without one but your results will be alot better with a casing layer. Since mushrooms are mostly water casing layers can result in shrooms that are much bigger. How this is your substrate level in the 8x4 pan. Put a casing layer roughly 1/4 the depth of your substrate. So if you have 2" of substrate put about a half in of casing. But I wouldn't really go over that. Anything over a half inch take forever to colonize. If you want to go a little thicker you could do 3/4 of an inch but never over that.
Peace Out~

i would say about 2-3inches depth on the sub. I was only planning on putting a light layer over the top as most of its already colonized and i wanted to see some fruits. I was also noticing somepeople saying i should line the bottom of the tupperware with alum foil, i would assume this would be beneficial so i dont have any side fruting correct?

Most people line the inside/bottom of their tupperware with aluminum so when it shrinks it grabs the aluminum and you don't have to worry about casing the sides when it shrinks. I guess it blocks out light too...
