Agar Contamination

Uh oh. I made my PDA agar, and put it in my incubation chamber which is at 28 degrees celcius. none of my autoclaved agar dishes grew anything after over a week, so i went ahead with inoculation.
inoculation was done infront of my hepafilkter in my glovebox. This was an old spore syringe i got from a friend. it was about 6 months old.
it has black dots covering the surface of it, which i know are not the black clumps of spores.

also, after this, the n ext day, my spore order came in, and i inoculated my agar with these too.
a couple of these have fuzzy looking stuff on the edges.
is this fuzz normal? or is it contamination. its white fuzz....
or am i just not experienced enoujgh with agar to know what the colonized agar looks like?

Black dots might be black pin mold. The plates with spores from a spore print are probably good. Initial growth from spores on agar is greyish and whispy. It thickens up and gets whiter as it grows. A transfer of a good looking area to a fresh plate will usually bring out the ropey growth.
