Aren't they much more potent, why don't people grow them as much, is it hard to find a print for these or harder to grow?

They have to be grown outdoors, only fruit in the fall, and you need to live in an area that has the right conditions. Cubensis can be grown in any house that is kept a comfortable temperature, anywhere in the world, any time of the year.

ummm...No. WTF do you mean they HAVE to be grown outdoorss. There are numerous logs here on pan cyans. Are they more potent? About 5X more. Thats why I dont want them lol. Are they harder to grow...yes. To a certain degree.

To which Cyan do you refer? There are two. Pan Cyan (dung loving), and Psi Cyan (woodloving)? Yes, they are both more potent than Psi Cubensis, and harder to grow. Pan Cyans can be grown indoors, to a varying degree of success. They are more susceptible to contams, and are more sensitive to their environment than Cubs. Cyan Prints from vendors are generally more expensive, when they stock them. If you happen to get ahold of a good Pan Cyan print, I'll give up 4 Cubensis prints for it.

My bad, I just assumed he meant psilocybe cyanescens, I didn't even think about panaelous cyanescens.

I don't know, but I am not worried about potency,
Everything else but that, though I am not a junky looking for a fix, Pans are pleasant, but potency I know nothing of.
For me it's about quality and efficiency of the grow.
Then it's about enjoying the harvest.
Pans are harder to grow, and that means unless you can grow Cubes your chances of success is narrower.

Pans are definitely harder to grow. I've had many stalled jars and poor flushes trying to grow them from multispore inoculation. I highly recommend making an LC for inoculation. On top of that, their dry weight is really low, even with a great flush. The upside is that the potency kind of makes up for it.

i think cubes are the perfect potentency. Any more, and it would be too hard of a trip.
As for the pan cyans, they need more o2 to pin and fruit, and also... they are skinny, and dry up to almost no weight.

You can get just as many pan cyan trips off a nice tray as that tray of nice cubies. Tougher to get a nice tray of pan cyans but still.
The trip is different, cubies are a little more mellow. Although I cant speak for all pan cyan strains, only my Ausies. They're to much for me. One gram can be nice, but any less isnt strong enough and any more is to strong in the body.

I grew the same Ausis that scatmanrav did (same spore source). I did not like the trip much either. It's really speedy. I mean like so speedy that I spent most of my time vibrating my entire body and feeling edgy. I tried them three times too, and each time the trip had me shaking like a leaf with all that speedy crap. I did not like them as well as cubensis. As for potency, they were about 5X to 6X as potent as any cubensis I have tried (I am being serious here).
Last Sunday I tried Pan Cyan Viets and had one of the best trips of my life. It's funny too because I went into the trip expecting an Ausi-like trip but hoping it might be better. I had fantastic vibes from those babies! The trip was not speedy at all, and I had very strong euphoria. I spent about an hour crying like a baby staring at some burningman symbol. It was wonderful. I can hardly wait to try them again. Don't know about potency of these since I made a tea from them which I usually do not do.
Interestingly the two strains are, of course, the same species, but Ausis hardly blue at all while viets blue so strongly they turn black.

That is the main reason I haven't tried to grow them,no matter how much more potent they are id rather just eat more cubes and at least id have them, even good looking cyan grows seem like they would dry up to be incredibly disappointing.....O and by the way whoever bumped this thread, its been a yr since anyone else did

This is a cool thread.
The answer is: more people do grow cyans!
Not usually people who want to do easy grows, or high efficiency grows though.
Some people like the challenge of more difficult indoor grows, some people like to grow outdoors in colder-than-cubie-land, some people like to eat less mushroom mass for the same trip intensity, some people like to try a variety of mushrooms to see how different they actually are, some people like to take a mycological approach and study multiple specimens!
etc.
