PF Tek using Perlite & BRF

If using perlite, brf, water mix, how much of each item should I mix ?
The reason of it is because I cant find any verm, only perlite, they dont carry it no more, dont know wtf. So does perlite hold far less water than verm ? if so shouldnt I add more water to it when I mix ? or same amount with the regular pf tek ?
Thanks you !

It sounds like you should read more, no offence.

What I mean is, there have been people who have asked the same question a lot of times (the search will prove it), and there is documented info if you run across a tek with your answer. Just click search above, and if you've ussed google, you know what to do. good luck

He's right, read up. For starters though, you cannot replace vermiculite with perlite. They're completely different. It's like if you're making toast and you try substituting the bread with a glove. It really just doesn't work. If you've actually exhausted all your resources locally and still cannot find vermiculite, then order some on the net.

Perhaps you can try that route.

I used BRF and Perlite for my first attempt. It was a waste of a good syringe. It might work if it were ground to the fineness of vermiculite, but I wouldn't bother. I got verm at Lowe's. They didn't have it for a long time, though. I think they may stock it as a seasonal item.
