Yea, it would be faster. I think you are saying that you would have a tube that is long (a couple feet) packed with shrooms, then I would think that they would dry quickly.  But loudly

You're going to end up with some gnarly ass looking shrooms when they dry. And besides, does the extra few hours really make that much difference in the face of having a loud vacuum run for a good number of hours. It's not going to be instant if anything.

What exactly is the point in wasting time

It's not really wasting time. You just set them in the dehydrator or over the fan and let them sit for a day or so while going on about your normal daily life. The time they sit there is no time wasted for you. If you're that concerned about time wasted, then just eat em all fresh.

You aren't exactly saving time, you have to get them all into a contraption that would be undoubtedly more complicated, and be with the vacuum since this isn't goign to be operating it under "normal conditions" Spending your time rigging this and getting it to work/experimenting will waste more time than just doing it the way that works.

this whole concept if kinda retarded. Why don't you want to dry them the way they are spossed to be dried? Useing standard techniuqes? I would like to see you do this. If your so determed to do it then why did you ask if it would work. What yr are you in your physics class? and what school So I know not to enroll there.

Fan dry them for 24 hours then put them in a pillow case and tie it up. Then put the case in a clothes dryer on tumble dry low heat for 30-45 mins with some fresh clean towels in with it to absorb some shock of tumbling.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

If you fill the tube up, you'll have extra pressure, could be hard on the vac. I don't think it would cause blockage, but if something gets lodged wrong, it's possible. But hey, you might be onto something, it would be nice to know I could dry shrooms in 2 hours if I needed to.

I read somewhere (someone posted a link on this board) where a guy took a cardboard box, rigged a 150 watt light at the top, and placed the "jerkey" in racks that sat on dowel rods. Don't remember if they used a fan or not.
