Well I shroomed last night, 3.5 grams, gold caps. First intense shroom trip I've had since the beginning of summer. It was beutiful, I listened to The Wall, it almost sent me into a bad trip, but in the end it was just great. Very creepy, medeval times themed, jokers and jesters oozing around my room, kings and queens standing over me. Over all the trip was scary, but very artistic and interesting.
I got about an hour of sleep, maybe two, but either way, today has been absolutely wonderful. Like, I can't imagine heroin being this good. I just feel, absolutely perfect, completely content. This was amplified when I smoked weed, it's almost too much. I just feel...great. I think it was brought on by the song "Comfterably Numb", pretty much describes my feeling completely.
This is just so amazing, is it common to feel THIS great after a trip? I'm used to E and shit where you feel horrible afterwards...but I'm just...in complete bliss. If this is normal, how long does it usually last? I never want it to end..

yeah, enjoy the afterglow man they affect everyone differently. you are lucky, i get really depressed on a mushroom comedown/next day, but i love an acid afterglow. it feels similar to what you describe.

That pretty much describes the way I feel, it's beutiful.
It's not like it's even the drug doing it, it's long gone, but it just put my head in the perfect place. I'm still in the same shitty situation I was in two days ago...but really...it's okay.
And it's just damn good to know that it's okay.
Edit- Yeah, I don't feel to great on the comedown. Just a general uncomftorableness between tripping and base-line. But now that I'm back on baseline...wow.

> I can't imagine heroin being this good.
on the contrary, i consumed what was believed to be Methadone today. apparantly a sizable amount. i've been well opiated for over 9 hours and i'm still feeling it quite strongly.
i feel amazing as well, even though we're on a whole different end of the spectrum. i wish your happy thoughts and good feelings all the best

Wait until the trip when the shroomies want you see the dark stuff. There'll be no afterglow after that one.
Good to hear you had a great trip though.

imho the bad trips, i mean the really bad ones, are the absolute best. i mean that in a recreational and spiritual sense.
cartoons and giggles just don't get me off as well as anxiety and fear.

I'm totally with you on that one man. I can remember a few of my REALLY great trips, but I remember EVERY bad trip I've ever had. I love that feeling you get when you say to yourself, "wait a minute, maybe I shouldn't be experiencing this..." and then it plunges you even further in. Thats what happened on my dark 7 gram trip, where I was alone, total darkness with Shpongle, Tool and Opeth. Craaaaaaaazy!!

Thanks, you too
I wouldn't exactly call my trip good, as I said. If I had of paniced it very easily could have been pretty bad, I was scared, but luckily my mind stays in tact when I shroom so I was okay keeping calm.
I dunno, my happyness more comes from the fact that it was difficult, and I got through it, and that things are okay, and they worked out. I think I'm just comparing that to the rest of my life and feeling the same way. I'm not sure if thats exactly the reason, but it's my best guess.
Not that I wouldn't have wanted the trip to be any different, while scary it was still extremely beutiful, I saw some very strange creatures and villians, but I dunno, I connected with them somehow, even though I felt they were out to get me.

It was actually more beautiful than evil. Cuz I've seen the beautiful "light" of trippin. During Shpongle I saw Raja Ram's flutelines eminate from the speakers ripping reality asunder and behind so called reality was an indescribable amount of dimensions behind it, made of information/energy with billions and billions of different shades of colors. Probably the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Then during the "dark" trip, I saw into the abyss that I guess people of ancient times saw and decided to label it "hell." I can see why they did, but I also got the distinct impression it wasn't a literal place you could go, but more of a fork in the road, where you can either stay on the edge of the abyss and gaze into it your whole life or choose to fall in and come out the other side. I fell in... Not sure if I've found the other side just yet.
I woke up the next day not the same person I was 12 hours previous.

ive had a few experiences like that, i think they're the most rewarding. sometimes, i do try and shoot for a mroe recreational than spiritual dose, usually with acid. i love to listen to darker metal and get in a horror movie-esque vibe. being on the edge of my sanity in a vulnurable mind state is very fun to me.

I don't think that I could listen to The Wall tripping without having a bad trip. Their first few albums are the ones that I like to trip to.

Life isn't all fun and games, tripping shouldn't be either. I wouldn't even consider tripping fun really. To me it's more work than anything else. Usually the next day I'm completely drained and all I wanna do is lay around and listen to McKenna talk about tripping or read about it.
And, tyrone, sorry, didn't mean to thread hijack or anything...

Skinny Puppy is pretty crazy to trip to. Einsturzende Neubauten is too. The songs A Saucerful Of Secrets and Revalation #9 are very creepy to me anyway. Captain Beefheart freaks me out but in a good way.
I've heard Planet Caravan but not for a long time and not enough times to remember how it goes.

it's really crazy. the effects both phil and ozzy use on the vocals are so insane. the guitar is very eerie and the drums are i thikn exclusively bongo oriented.
