So last night changed my life (kinda long)
    #5299478 - 02/14/06 02:43 PM (17 years, 11 months ago)

This is something I'll never fully be able to explain, but for some reason I just have to talk about it.

Last night me and one of my best friends took some 2-ci. We popped in this movie called "What the "bleep" do we know?" Now I'm sure many of you have heard of it, but for those that haven't it's a very psychedelic movie about the human mind, what's it capable of, and breaking down life into quantum physics. I can't even touch on the stuff they went over in this movie, but here's the important part...

After this movie, me and my friend start talking. We start reaching into our minds. We talk about things from telepathic communication to if you can make people hallucinate with music by reciprocating the same brain activities with the music that causes hallucinations. Then we go into the fact that hallucinations could be more real than anyone realizes. In the movie they say that the brain can't tell the difference between what it sees and what it remembers. THEORETICALLY, if you SEE a wall open up, and your brain BELIEVES the wall is open, you should be able to walk right through that opening since matter is 99% empty and the electrons would no longer push against each other because your brain isn't telling you this wall is there.

Got a bit sidetracked there, but the main point I was getting to was we then got into a 3 hour long discussion about the state of the world we live in. Our base conclusion here is that the world is in sad shape (duh). We begin to understand if society continues the way it's going that there's no hope, this is the turnaround point. We can either bring the world back up or let it crash down into flames and destroy itself.

If you break a person down (scientifically) we're all made of the exact same components. Believe it or not, we're ALL linked, everyone in the world, in some way or another. Call it collective knowledge, call it whatever you will. My friend and I come to the conclusion that humans aren't going anywhere evolution wise because now everyone is too concerned with SELF. The only way to truly unite people and advance as a society is to give up the sense of "What's in it for me?" and start thinking "How will this help everyone?"

I still don't even understand some of the thoughts going on in my head. I feel like we're about to do something really important, something that could change the world. We've both already come to the conclusion that this is the only idea that we've come across in our lives worth sacrificing ourselves so that others may come to understand. That's pretty fucking substantial if you know my friend and I.

Anyway, I'm done for now, I'm going to go visit my girlfriend and hopefully cheer her up a bit. Hope someone got a little something out of reading this, because I know I got a lot out of talking about it.

Hallucinagenics are the key to the universe.. Through them we will find out many things that arent even comprehendable while sober.. we are all connected whether we like it or not, the theory of evolution is flawed because there has to be some starting point.

Hey save some 2ci for me when you come back to AZ!!! ill have hella booms and dank waiting for you!

Hi... i don't know if u know this but he movie was produced by people inside the Ramtha's School Of Enlightmen (www.ramtha.com). In fact, many of the people talking during the movie are part of this 'movement', as a mater of fact u saw J.Z. Knight (yes the blonde wise woman), who happends to be the one who channels Ramtha's spirit.

Many say this movie is just a set up, many say it is great, i have seen it, personally i liked it but there are many questionble things. I like Ramtha's teachings but i think it is also a very very big bussines. My dad is into Ramtha's and he is willing me to go take this seminar to Ecuador on April i wonder if i should.

Look there are many posts about this movie do a search and ull find interesting obervations.

peace

That's cool, I didn't know any of that. The more startling thing last night wasn't the movie, it was the discussion with my friend that the movie provoked.

I have also seen that movie, as well as studying Buddhism plus a few other things that have made me come to the conclusion that mankind is on the verge of a spiritual revolution.

The next step in Man's evolution is to overcome ego and illusion of self, and become truly enlightened. Without this evolution the world and the human race cannot survive with any quality of life.

A good book on overcoming self is called "The power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle.
He explains how we live much of our lives in the past or the future, both of which are just illusions, they do not exist other than in our own minds.
This keeps us as prisoners and is like a cloud that blocks us from true enlightenment and realization of the only true moment which is "Now".

Let's pretend for a moment that the concept of "time" does not exist, and our reality is actually composed of just one constant moment, almost like a thought.
Everything within our reality is ultimately one, one thought, one creation. Perhaps this is all just a thought of God.
Now we spend our time thinking about what has happened or what will happen and we rarely live in the "now" which is the only
moment in our lives that is not a creation of our minds. The everlasting infinate now.

It's a very exciting time to be alive, because I forsee that the world will reach a crisis point within our lifetime, and mankind will have to make the decision on what is truth and what is illusion

Yup, you hit right on the head some of the things we were talking about. Unfortunately we think that the "crisis" that will make people have to react will be of such proportions that by then it might be too late (such as nuclear war).

I believe we need to think ahead to avoid the problem, not use the common selfish method of "I'll deal with it when I come to it"

Dont try and view that movie in any scientific light whatsoever. If you like its spiritual message, I personally dont, thats fine. But its not based on quantum physics at all.

I hate that movie for a few reasons... to do with ramtha, and not explaining who was cultish and who was a legit physics theororist, aswell as the snowflake thing is.. illusory.

Anyways, im glad you got alot out of the movie, it certainly is a good introduction to the ideas of unified consciousness, and a bridge between science and spirituality.. although i think some of the substance of the movie suffered with the ridiculous story line.

Along with eckert tolle (ive only heard about the book) the celestine prophecy is a good introduction to the ideas we're talking about along with the concept of a spiritual revolution..

Id strongly suggest reading the literature of Jane roberts and Seth especially "seth speaks: the eternal validity of the soul".. Jane channeled an energy essence which dictates about the innate reality beyond our direct perceptions.

Check out the tao te ching aswell... also covering the same topic.

So... whats our place within this revolution? (i love these talks!)

PDU is right.

The theory of water reacting to positive thoughts is bogus, just do a google search on it.  While its a good movie to get you to establish an interest in quantum physics, its not that good of a movie.  For a good quantum physics video, checkout The Elegant Universe.  It also very flashy, but has no cultish overtones to it.

The term "channeling spirits" makes my skin crawl.

And Jadian, thumbs up to you and your buddy have a great conversation.  Consider yourself lucky you ahve a friend that can talk to you like that.

I can't decide if a "medium" is really channeling something, or is it just the person talking to their higher self, operating in another dimension...

I've read a bit of the Seth stuff, wasn't impressed.  And the Celestine Prophecy was great!  Except some of the plot twists were outrageous, but it's not really a "plot" book now is it?

I remember the first time I took mushrooms one of the things I said to my friend was "Why bother doing things if they don't help other people? If everybody just did things to make other people happy all the time then everybody would be happy, right?".

It's not really some profound abstract thought but it makes a lot of sense. I wish more people would realize and commit to this.

"Commit random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty."

Some of the physicists they talked to had their interviews edited around so that it sounded like they were saying different things than they actually were.

One of them tried to sue the movie for misrepresenting him.

I've been spewing this a while to my friends. It is SO true.
NOW IS THE TIME. Rise up.
But, do you really think "the world" can bring itself back up.
It's looking pretty grim. But I am not worried. The select few, the good people, the light of the Lord, etc, will shine on UNTIL THE END.
Even through the darkest nights they will stand.
So, just stay strong, so that in your next reincarnation( yes it's very real) you will come back even brighter, and continue the fight.

Remember which physicist it was?  The only person I could recall being respected was Fred Alan Wolf.

And no offense to the lead actress at all, but why, out of ALL the actresses out there do you choose a deaf one?  I don't mean to be offensive at all, I'm just curious.  I kept wondering that throughout the whole movie, as well as the Ramtha stuff.

Better yet, read the book. The video is a very, very dumbed down adaptation. The book is far more detailed, but still entertaining.

I agree.

You read Greene's other book, Fabric of the Cosmos? I have both and enjoyed both. There's some parts in both I definitley need to re-read though.
