Browning on top-mycelium

Hello,
I have started fruiting my Mycelium in an aluminum foil casing with a plastic wrap on top with holes for air circulation. The mycelium is caked in brown rice flour and vermiculite. The fruiting chamber consists of perlite, potting soi, and some kind of charcoal stuff. I sterilized everything and practiced ( in my opinion compared to this message board's) sufficient santitization and hygenic techniques. With all this under the belt here is my suspected problem...
After about 3 days since the start of fruiting I noticed the mycelium has risen above the surface of the substrate and is clearly visible. The mycelium is starting to fuzz, which reminds me of a snowflake like shape. From reading the various faqs etc.. I assume this means the mycelium is starting to pin. I do notice now though that some of the mycelium that rose to the top is starting to brown slightly, or just get darker in color. The aroma that i smell whenever i take off the plastic cover reminds me of a mushroomy smell. It is not neccesarily a good smell, or a bad one. I just want to verify that the darkening is not contamination?
If the information I supplied is not sufficient to diagnose I will try and get some pictures on here.
Some things to take in to mind as well... I do not know the total humidity as I am using the spray bottle method, but the plastic wrap has water droplets accumulating on it, and the substrate has some droplets accumulating on it. ( Which is not a good thing from I understand)
I do not have a thermometer in there as well (which i will rectify) but the casing is kept on a heat pad on LOW. The casing and pad are warm to the touch, not hot. Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

well the snowflake shape sounds like rhizomorphic growth ... the browning though sounds more like a cap forming on a knot

Rhizomorphic being a contaminant or a stage the mycelium sets in? I searched the word Rhizomorphic and came up with: http://www.shroomery.org/images/3381/22204.jpg
Looking at that picture my white mycelium strands could relate to what it looks like, but the darker color is not present on it like that.
p.s
Does anyone find the smell i described to be anything to worry about. Again, its a "mushroomy smell" when im around wild mushrooms i get this smell, but it smells very humid, if that makes any sense.

Oh yah I might as well include in this post... the type im using is Psilocybin Cubensis - Costa Rican strain. I was sure it was a definitely safe type and strain to use. But I am hi now and some kind of paranoia has hit me that maybe this could be a dangerous strain?

lol no it is not a dangerous strain, Do not worry about the fungus itself being dangerous. The bacteria could, by chance, have contaminated the fungus, but we would need a picture to tell. I would isolate it from your other subs if you have any and continue as is and spray a light 10% h202(3%) 90%water mist on it

I am not nervous about the browning or the smell anymore as I have not seen any kind of spread. Here are some pictures of its progress. They are in their 4-5 day in casing..
