To really do any good it needs to be more or less powderized but yes it will work. Remember these coral/oystershell are very water resistant and break down extremely slow so the finer the better bro.

Oyster Shell "Flour" $2 for 1lb. a hell of a deal Not what is overlay but rather what overlay is Gas Exchange vs. FAE "We all have priorities. I used a closet once setup a nice little lab trouble was all the shit that was in there ended up in the bedroom that pissed off the GF then I ended up dumping her as she was getting in the way of my sterile culture technique! Ya I got priorities too!!!"

well i think my casing layer ph should be fine for a few flushes. as it gets more acidic, the coral should have broken down enough to begin to counter it. i just have access to free crushed coral, but cant easily get crushed oyster, and i figured theyre both calcium anyway.
any advice on a good way to crush to a powder? also what sort of ratio should i use when i mix with poo and wbs?

Why do you think you need a PH buffer for Poo or WBS?

ahh a hammer! novel idea!
ph buffer is for the verm/peat casing. peat is acidic. i think i may just go straight verm. also i understand that after a few flushes everything gets acidic anyways.
