this is really fucking disturbing if you ask me
also this is why I think all parents should be forced to do hallucinagens before deciding to have kids, so they know what it's like and take their children seriously when they experience things like this.
there's no such thing as monsters, don't be a pussy, etc. try thinking there's no such things as monsters when you're tripping balls. Adults forget what it's like to be young and vulnerable.

I got that maze/prank sent to me the day before someone posted that vid here (like 2 days ago) so I knew exactly what to expect. The kids' reaction made me LMFAO. I had to watch it twice.
The kid will be fine, no harm done.

no harm done? wtf are you talking about?
it's kind of the same principle as you're sitting there playing with toys, and your dad comes home drunk and starts beating you because he's mad.
there's only no harm done if he apologized and had the kid look at the maze again and again until it didn't scare him at all... or maybe he was like "let's go scare mommy" or something after he calmed down.
If there's no harm done he wouldn't have punched the fucking computer. Look into his expressions man, it looks like he was almost mauled by a Tiger. Kids don't differentiate real and unreal when something happens that quick, it just tells them that their life may be in danger.
That's the whole premise of anything surprizing in a scary movie or in these programs, they bypass your rational mind and trigger the fight or flight response.
anything that scares you to the point of tears is going to leave a lasting impression on you. It'd have been one thing (and damn funny) if he just punched it and was like "wtf" and looked scared. Watch it again.

well your right, its traumatizing(spelling?), but he should be okay. I know what your sayin tho, when I was younger I put on this mask and scared this little kid who was like 8 years younger than me, so he was young, not sure what age. He had a WAY hissy fit and I thought he was gonna cry. He was so scared of maskes.
I was young and didnt really think about it. I mean when I was a kid at like age 6 I was watching childs play and freddy krugeur

There's a reason movie ratings are often based on "scary moments:" it is not nice or appropriate to shock kids that young in that way. Prisoner#1, if the kid had started laughing just like your son, that would have been different, but he didn't, he was crying hysterically. Firstly, what is so entertaining about making little kids cry like that? I do not see any pleasure in it. Obviously the kid is extremely scared and unhappy, and it's the stepdad's fault. Where is the humor? Secondly, although I'm sure the kid will not be permanently scarred by some computer prank, he IS going to be needlessly terrorized at night for god knows how many weeks/months. I ask again, what was the point? It wasn't fun for the kid. It shouldn't be fun for the stepdad. That's just sick.

I've watched it several times, enough that it doesn't even make me crack a smile anymore.
If the kid was seriously traumatized, he wouldn't have sat back down at the computer. He'd have gone off somewhere else and been terrified to ever touch the mouse again.
Your analogy of getting a beating from a drunken father for no reason is WAY off base. C'mon, will ya?

That's neat and it has nothing to do with what this video shows. If I scared you and you loved it then that's cool. If I scared you and it freaked you right out to the point of breaking down like that kid did then that's another story.
Not everyone likes that stuff. There are kids that you could do the stuff you do with your son to and they wouldn't feel calmed down for well over an hour after it was over even if you apologized.
Quote:

exactly what I said it would. Adults do not understand that the way children experience the world is RADICALLY different than they do. They watch the mundane become full of life and will gain a great sense of empathy into just why kids care so much about their toys, and can be afraid of things like the "dark" so easily.
Did that not make sense or are you trying to be argumental? Because it makes perfect sense to me so when people question it I'm just not really sure whether they get what I'm saying and they just disagree, or if I'm not saying enough.

Yeah well you sound like a good dad. There are some people that would yell at their kids and tell them to shut up and stop being afraid and only make matters worse.
Some people just don't understand what it is like to be a child, which is why I advocate the use of hallucinogens for prospective parents. Would you like further elaboration? I really am very serious about it.
TripMeister I didn't see him sit back down, I'll watch it again. But if the dad was doing this to be mean I don't see much of a difference. You learn not to trust people very quickly when they random mess with you. Be it physically or psychologically, and it creates constant anxiety while you're around them. It's especially worse for children.

He DOES not go sit back down at all, and watching it again only makes me feel sick man. He was freaked the fuck out. That is damn near how a child would react if you hurt him severely by beating him or doing anything extremely cruel.
When the movie ends it goes back to the beginning clip of him sitting on the computer.
