Zen and the Art of MM ... Further Reading

Hey, this is my first time posting in here. I've lurked for awhile and been amazed at the knowledge presented in the debates and exchanges but I have always felt to out of my element to post and add anything constructive to the discourse.
Anyways, by accident I just finished reading my first philosophy book in ZMM and was absolutely enthralled by the story and the ideas it presented. This philosophy business now has me hooked so I was wondering if I could have some recommendations for further study. It dosn't have to relate to ZMM at all, any texts that you feel are essential or important throw them in.
Also please feel free to discuss ZMM in this thread as I am very interested in others opinions.
So in conclusion, give me books.

I had a funny relationship with that book... it lived in our bathroom for several months, and I picked it up at a random point every time I sat down for a few minutes.
Through this method I managed to understand a lot of the story, yet the book maintained a degree of mystery through the limitations my of my chance encounters.
Anyway.
You should read: "Illusions" by Richard Bach.

It depends on what region you're interested most in...east, west, or some combination of the two.

There are quite a few book recommendation threads in the past... do a search.
What kind of book are you looking for?

I'm down for anything, especially any works that people share a strong bond too.
Today I picked up,
Mans Search For Meaning - Viktor Frankl Mediations - Marcus Aurelius Fear and Trembling - Soren Kierkegaard Atlas Shrugged - Ayn Rand
Thanks for the pick Jaques I'll be sure to check it out.

Personally I would recommend:
- The Don Juan series by Castaneda - anything by Alan Watts - Be Here Now by Ram Dass - The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff - Tao Te Ching by Lao-Tzu - The Way of Chuang Tzu - The Perennial Philosophy by Aldous Huxley - Ethics by Spinoza - The Republic by Plato - anything by Nietzsche

I will second The Tao Of Pooh... and also add The Te Of Piglet, same author.

Hardcore Zen is good. It's a nice look at Zen from a punk rock/monster movie perspective. Also, download some Alan Watts. He's an entertaining and enlightening guy.
