peyote

Here are my baby Lophs that I grew from seed. They were started two summers ago and their progress has been somewhat slow but at least none have died. They should be ready to eat in a few more years. Although, I dont know if I could bring myself to do that. Anyways it is quite easy to grow them from seed...I used mostly sand and a bit compost (1/10 ratio sand-soil)with a bit of crushed lava rock to make the soil more basic, ph wise.
The seeds were from many different mother plants so there is a weird mix of shapes and colours.
peace

and a grafted peyote

That's mighty pretty. I've always wanted to empty out my 10 gallon aquarium, put in some desert soil and decorative rocks, put a flourescent grow light on the top, and grow some peyote indoors as decoration. They'd look mighty pretty like that I think.

I should plant some of the seeds I've got.

Those are great pictures, JimmytheWorm. You've got a lot of patience growing them from seed. They could get that big in 2 months with grafting, but there's nothing like natural development. You'll be quite proud once they start putting out their own seeds.

Hey man, didn't you eat a few buttons with a chunk of pedro one time? How did that ever turn out?

I assume your talking to me? Well I did eat pedro and peyote together a number of times. Always a perfect synergy those two. Although the best trip was with a small handfull of dried buttons and way too much mdma. I would'nt try to replicate that experience again though
For people starting from seed I would recommend starting the seeds under diffused sunlight rather than artificial light. I have had way better germination rates and less stretching but watch out for sun burn. Once started, they seem to do well under fairly low light. ( I use full specrum bulbs for reptiles, the tube ones)
here's a couple more grafts just cause im bored and like to take pics (and to show off a bit )

those are simply amazing.
people, i am pretty unfamiliar with how peyote generally turns out. are results this beautiful a typical thing? or do you need to put in sweat and blood(and hey, what the hell, a couple eyes of newts) to get babies like those?

It takes a good amount of care, and good knowledge of what too much "care" is. They are wonderful results, but don't think of them as something you can't achieve.
* waits for whatever123 to ask for a source...
Just kidding, man.
