 Shiitake and blood pressure?

I have seen a chart that FP posts where blood pressure is indicated as one of the possible medicinal benefits of shiitake. However, in researching more on the web, I haven't seen where any definitive studies have shown this.
Well, my BP is almost a constant around 130/80. However, I recently had a large crop from outdoor oak logs and ate lots of shiitake for weeks. During that time my BP measured an average of 118/70! since I have run out, it has gone back to 130/80. Has anyone else noticed such a health benefit (and also from other types of shrooms)?

I do not say shiitake cannot do this and that. However you conducted an experiment on yourself. I would suspect a strong placebo effect here. Also, for some days you were doing hikes in the forest, which can help reducing BP.
To check the effect of a new drug or food additive, a double blinded, placebo controlled, multicenter trial is required. However if you enjoy this mushroom, just go for it!

No placebo effect here as I did not know shiitake was supposed to have this effect. It was when I noticed that my BP was consistenly lower (more than a two week period) that I started thinking that it coincided with eating all the shiitake- and therefore started doing some reading. Not sure what it was (which is why I am asking) but no way was it placebo.

We'll, ran out of shiitake for a few weeks and BP went back up to avg 130/80. Got another bloom and after eating for a few days, BP is back to 117/75 avg. Definately something to this and am surprised no one else has had similar experience.
