I originally posted this in the Mushroom Cultivatio forum but I didn't get any helpful replies so I decided to post it in the Advanced Cultivation forum.
In another forum Ryche Hawk was saying a substrate higher in trypamines produces more potent mushrooms. He said Brown rice flower was low in trypamines and birdseed, rye, and straw. I was just wondering if you used the brown rice/verm substrate but added some cracked rye seed would that effectively up the tryamines and increase the potency? Also, if this wouldn't work, does anyone know of a method that would effectively up the trypamines without making the proccess too much harder?
Oh yeah, I don't own a pressure cooker, I sterilize my jars in a rice steamer and it works well. Most of the teks using substrates other than brown rice require a pressure cooker (or at least thats what they say). Is there a tek using a substrate high in trypamines but doesn't require a pressure cooker?
