Opaque Body - Clear Lid Tub

I have seen several requests for this type of tub. And even I asked about it before.
For those of you who dont want to cut out the top of a tub, and also for those of you who do not want clear SIDES so your mushrooms will grow upward, I finally found a tub for ya.

It was $5 at Home Depot. Rubbermaid. And is VERY sturdy.
Just throwing it out there. I am going to put it to good use.

i would still use a black plastic liner for when your shit pulls away from the sides due to your monster flushes.

Yea, whatever you want to use it for. I prefer to make multiple smaller casings inside so I can study them closer and remove them if need be. Thats just me though.
My point is that here is a light source from the TOP rather than from the sides and top.

Those babys were like 10-15 bucks and they dropped them down to 5. They smell good to since they are made with cedar chips or somthing. I think I'll grab one and gice it a try to

Thats a great find, is the wood treated tho? Remember you're dealing with a lot of humidity so you dont want the wood to rot or warp. If it's not it should be ok to just treat it.
Bins like that are nearly impossible to find, ive hit every retail store in my area and i cant find any. Guess ill have to stop into home depot and check em out, what section did you find that in?

All it says is that "Made With Real Cedar" and it does have a cedar smell. But still, its a very thick plastic feel.
I found them at the very front of the store (might be different in different places). There were LOADS of bins and tubs there. I am guessing the "home organization" section.

PERFECT for a mono-tub. I've looked for tubs like that (And just about anything else that might be useful to mushroom cultivation.) pretty much every time I go to a department or hardware store and haven't found anything like that.

I saw them when I went to homedepot the other day. I personally would not use them. I could smell the redwood from 20 feet away. Atleast do yourself a favor and do not do bulk directly on the container, use a trashbag or foil containers.

As long as the cedar application is completely synthetic it should work fine. If they are using anything organic it will definitely be a breeding ground for contaminates. Good find though.

Target sells a blue one just like it that does not contain cedar. I have two of each and they both work great.
