Oak logs

I recently ordered 300 shitake plug spawn to inoculate some oak logs three feet long and about 6" in diameter. I also ordered 100 lions mane plugs to try because the caption on Fungi Perfecti said they were some of the best to eat. My question is will they grow on oak logs if you innoculate them the same as for Shitake or is there a better way to do it.

its what is used to spread the shitake mycellium to new subtrates.
