 first time tonight - 2 questions

My first time is going to be tonight and I have two questions...
1) I have an 8th, how much should I eat? My friend told me definatly not to eat it all.
2) Are the caps more potent than the stems? I got more stems than caps and I was wondering about that...

1) on an empty stomach, 1/2 of the eighth (~1.75 gm) should be enough (assuming well-dried Ps. cubensis)...
2) caps & stems are pretty much equipotent...

ummm, got some valiums or maybe some niacinamide ? (as possible "antidote" if things get too dam' swirly...)
a little pot to smoke can help to get things going... but some people really notice the pounding heart and fuzzy thinking from pot when they are tripping...
secure environment...
the right music...
easy snacks (fresh fruit... cuppa cocoa... whatever...)
... is this a solo trip? or w/tripmate(s) or a sitter?
anyways, have an illuminating time...

hi, if it is your first time I suggest you eat 2g or a little less. I suggest you trip with a good friend, and both eat half an eight. you'll have fun!
potency of caps and stems is equal. also try not to eat anything at least 4-6 houres before you eat the shrooms, that way it will work better. better chew very good on them. I'd trip in the evening or at night. for the rest listen to roger.

first time? nice, you'll never forget it 
PERSONALLY i'd go with half an eighth, i weigh 120 lbs btw...i did acid a few times before i ever did shrooms, and i did a half eighth of shrooms for my first time and had a blast, id suggets no more, 2.0 g at the most, but however much you take,
HAVE FUN! Run around in nature, draw, play videogames, talk about life with a friend, etc etc ... just don't be stuck in one room for the trip or you will probably have a bummer
and i agree with the valium post, having some onhand in case of a crisis is quite necessary, there's nothing MACHO about tripping, it can get scary, so it's always nice to know you have something that can pull you out of the trip if you can't handle it
but don't fret, first trips are almost NEVER bad, and be sure to read the Psychedelic FAQ on the main shroomery site, it should help out a nice bit ...

Yeah... 2 and a half grams for the first time, it will be plenty man. After that, what my friends tell me, eat more, you don't necessarily trip harder, but you feel like more shit afterwards. Still, my first dosage was 4 grams, so if you like, eat half of the eighth, wait 45 minutes (It shouldn't take any longer) and if you don't feel enough (which I doubt), eat the rest.
From what I hear, caps have more of the precious stuff, but who cares, eat the whole thing!
Make sure your in a safe place. With a drug like this you might be taking a piss then get that "If I don't lie down, I'm FUCKED" feeling. Have music, go outside to a park or somewhere nice. Stay the hell away from cars. Peace.

2 grams for starting is good. you can work your way up later
(Don't do it like me, I did more than 10 g the first time don't recomend it)
envoirment is every thing in having a good trip do it in a safe place.
Remember no matter what happens it will pass just concentrate to keep control, but with 2 grams u should be ok.

hey guys. it was so much fun! i ended up eating it all despite all of your advice. colors flashed, things morphed and melted, and i saw very crazy colorful designs.
the trees in my backyard were swaying to the music that i was hearing (there really was no music)
i looked into the mirror for about 1 1/2 hours and i saw weird shit. i looked like a demon and than my face turned black and white and was turning into those theater mask things if you know what im talking about.
more and more.... i felt soo good and was so happy it was great... i look forward to doing them again.
