Music associations

So im sitting here during this NE snowstorm and listening to NIN- and all that could've been, just thinking how perfect the music matches the view from my window. The way the snow falls and everything is so white and grey toned, its the exact color scheme Ive always associated with the song.

What kind of associations fit perfect with your music? any songs that have a great story behind them?

Love that track.

Teen Angst by M83 makes me feel like my life is full of infinite possibilities. I close my eyes and I get the picture that everything up until that point is settled and ready to be moved on from. Its just me walking away from my past ready to define a limitless future.

When I recall memories I usually have a song in my mind. I feel that the music one listens to is one of the greatest influences on this person's mindset--although it could be that the converse is instead true.

The first time I lost my sanity was right after I listened to Pink Floyd's "Dark side of the Moon" album. Although I had heard it millions of times, this time I had just eaten 1/8th of shrooms and I went completely crazy thinking life was over and I had wasted it all. Time and sanity seriously completely disapeared. It was after this trip that I slowly realized the life is Life and it cannot be wasted. It is what you make of it. That trip is probably the most significant experience in my life and I am changed forever (although my sanity slowly came back)... I owe it all to Pink Floyd.

I can never listen to any songs from DSOTM anymore without getting butterflies or goosebumps. The lines: "Everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon" almost brings me to tears just remembering going insane...

Dont laugh.

Bob Segar; Night Moves...makes me rememeber a time when everything was warm and friendly and comfortable and perfect. I hear it and it brings me back there. No matter how miserable I am, I can smile.
