LIQUID CULTURE DOESNT WORK?? I put spores in but the grow doesnt start!!!

I did liquid culture a week ago. I did everything right, boiled jars(250 ml-those salsa sauce jars) in water for over 30 min. Put some honey(2 or 3 teaspoons-till the color was right) in it closed the lid and boiled again for about 30 min. Then i left them to cool overnight. So when i put spores in they were completely cooled. Now aweek later i can see spores floating in honey water but no mycelium appears. I keep jars under the radiator (25˙C). So the question is why they dont grow? Is it possible that my spore prints are fucked up?? I hope not coz ill have to order new ones again:(

2or3 teaspoons sounds like too much honey.
and the last LC i did took 7 days for me to see growth signs.

i've had a similar problem with a few of my LC's. i did a run of LC's (inoc'ed on 1/29) using 4 different strains
-Treasure Coast -Ecuador -TKS Super Strain -Mexi-Cub
i used the Baby Bottle (w/ 6cc Karo syrup each) Tek
the Treasure Coast and Ecuador LC's are ready (enough-i'll wait a bit longer) to make syringes or transfer to vacutainers.
the Super Strain and Mexi-Cub LC's both have fair size chunks of spores that have fuzz growing around them, and i've been able to break a few puffs free... but that's it. maybe certain strains take longer, maybe something caused them to die... i really don't know what's up with them 'cept i'll keep waiting to see what they do!

I prefer to put living mycellium in it as compared to straight spores. They tend to take off alot quicker.
I have had LC inoculated with spores take up to 3 weeks to germ. under 85F. conditions. Give it some time.

first time I tried LC I did a honey tek but it didn't work at all... I think due to the honey content. I think Dextrose/Malt is the best LC. Anyhow... did you shake your syringe of spores before innoculating? Recently I forgot and nothing was growing in the jar I had innoced (it was a test jar to see how the spores were)

* one * teaspoon of honey / malt syrup etc is PLENTY for 250ml. It's always safer to go less than more. If you're using powders, such as dextrose monohydrate then it's a tablespoon to 250ml.

Well, Otto's Tek : http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5238137/an/0/page/0 says to use a tablespoon of honey for 250 ml so I don't think the amount of honey would be the culprit here.
Also, I have done a tablespoon of honey in 250 ml and I have had a successful LC. Maybe the jar should have been shook before and after inoculation.

This evnin i made new jars. i put 1 teaspoon of honey in it(the waters completely clear). Now i have only half spore print left so i have to be carefull for possible contam. Do u think it is good idea to leave jars with honey water(without spores)for few days just to check that there isnt any contam in them?? then put some spores in after a week or so.

What kind of honey did you use?
I think it's possible it could of had some kind of preservative in it that is inhibiting the mycelium's growth.
It can be difficult to spot contams in LC even with a trained eye.

Yeah try getting all natural honey, the clearer the better. I put about 2 tablespoons in mine and didn't see growth for a while but now it's about a 3/4" long and 1/4" thick. Wait another week...if nothing then try again. 15cc of spores goes a LONG way
