too much moister
    #5290406 - 02/11/06 11:23 PM (17 years, 11 months ago)

ive recently had lost of trouble with contamination. ive lost all my cakes except for one. i ran out of jars so i stuffed a ziplock bag and boiled it with teh jars. the spores i inclonated it with have not germinated yet i think due to excess moister. infact im pretty sure thats why. i grew some myc. on some rice flower agar and cut out a portion to try an save it from contam. Fortunatlly i did save it. Took my last overly moist cake in the baggie, sliced it open iin the middle and stuffed the clump of myc. in there and taped it shut. i want to lwt some of the moister out of the bag but dont want any contam. what can i do? i have lots of the crap thats in stuffed animals, i think this stuff is polyfil, thats what ive herd. should i make a hole in the bag and cover it with polyfil for air exchange so that the excess moister can get out or should i just let the myc. do it work on the cake. im all out of spore and supplies so im really hopeing that i get sucess with this cake so that i can at least get new spores or more myc for making syrringes. help guys!!!!

If it smells, it's already contaminated.
