Heyaz, My girlfriends beaver has some casings, and mists them diligently because it's appartment has about 30-29% RH all the time... dry air is a problem.. the casing layer drys quickly enough that they require 2 mistings a day to keep it moist looking. Ok, so that said... the beave is wondering if it's normal to have water drops build up on the edges of the casing, against the wall of the container... these have been noted to become yellow in color after about a day... is this ok?? the beaver is concerned that these little water drops may invite contams. Cheers, Hammy.

I suggest you find some kind of sealed terrarium for your casings. Keep the humidity high in the terrarium, your casings won't dry out so much.

Thanks for the input, but it's too late for that right now, the beaver has rubbermaids fulla wheat straw spawned with BRF, already cased and looking good.. the above is the only problem.

sounds good hammy, just be patient and stop watering it so much, there is PLENTY of moisture beneath that casing if you are using straw, that it wont really make much of a difference, except the extra water you are spraying will just condensate then run down the sides, and end up making a pool underneath the straw surely creating a bad envirement for sure. No more misting ok. I am not sure why your droplets are turning yellow, but my best guess would be that it has something to do with the straw, because straw extract is yellow... if you think about it, the water is condensating 'from' the straw after it has absorbed.. so thats my best guess, but it doesnt sound bad, just stop misting now and let it run its cycle... all you need to do now is air it at least once a day, and for faster growth keep the temps in the upper 70's. Thats it. It should put out for several months.
