Thanks to my most recent traders extreme generosity, i now have spores up the ass and want to do some experiments. I need you guys' opinion on some stuff though. I want to try the dog food tek, but using vermiculite. I have super chunky insulation Verm, and horticultural verm. I'll try a pint jar of Super chunk, and a jar of horticultural verm. I was also thinking of a 1:3 hydrating mix of diluted coffee and dog food water. What strain(s) should I use? I have lipa yai, african(lc and spores), john allen, puerto rican, orissa indian, argentina, maz(LC), and i might still have some mexi albino spores.
any other suggestions for some experiments i could do?

I cant really say, experiment are cool to read and learn from, but I would rather know the out come, and when I do make changes to my procedure it's slowly, one thing at a time.
But as for the spores I don't think one would do better or the other, throw a dart so to say.
You say that you have some LC going then I would go with that.
When I fist read that tek I was like how the hell did he come up with that....cool but weird dog food I would have never guess.

i don't believe in using anything ridiculously artificial in mycology (and horticulture, actually), Im gonna try it with verm instead of the gel crystals.
has anybody ever done the dog food/gel tek? results?

oh that's right, I forgot about that, I meant to ask what you were substituting.
Crystals, yeah that is interesting on many levels.
You want to keep it 'organic'

A friend of mine tried it and didn't have much luck - I'm not really sure though, that's just one opinion...I haven't heard from anyone else about it. Like Snaggletooth said though, it's cool to experiment a little, but it's also nice to get something out of your hard work, ya know...I like to stick with what I know works, so that I can follow an entire procedure along and know when certain things should be happening, how they should happen, what's the best thing to do next, blah blah blah...
If you ask me, nothing beats horse poo and some straw.
Eightball made a great growlog of this tek if you're interested in trying it out. I can personally vouche for it
