I fully colonized some rye, but since it didnt have any rhizomorphic growth at all, i figured i'd might as well experiment with it. i dumped it all out into a bowl, and put it in front of a small portable heater until it dried. What sort of dose/method of administration might i use with this dried mycelium?
Thanks,
Scott

Uh, if you put it in front of a heater to dry, you probably killed all of the active ingredient(The psilocybin and psylocin). Next time, use a fan, or a desiccant. Just read up a little more.

While mycelium dies at 106F, I read psilocybin dies at much higher. That's why dehydrators work to dry shrooms. So the dead myc may still contain psycho actives.
As for dosing, you got me. Let me know what happens as I've always been curious to this.

Obviously, you should read up some more, also.

Higher temperatures, even 40 C, destroy psilocybin and psilocin.

Actually, there are experts on both sides of this temperature degradation fence. A recent thread discusses this issue. There was a lot of press about 'protecting' the actives from heat in earlier drying guides, such as the one you linked to. However, if you have ever drank mush tea, you should be convinced that boiling temps do not degrade the actives. Also, many extraction techniques involve high temps, where the point is to purify the actives, not degrade them. I think the majority of the experts now believe that heat degradation is a myth, certainly for sub boiling temps.

This thread has been closed.
Reason: this forum is for cultivation, not ghetto substrate eating techniques. Harvesting mycellium is NOT WORTH IT.
