Small white speckles on my WBS

Hey, I have these white speckles on my WBS in 5 of my 8 Equador Quart Jars and on none of my other jars or strains. I have 8 jars from each strain (Z, Equador, Transki) I got from SporeLab. I find it odd that the speckles are only on the Equador Jars. The one pictured has the most (1000s) while the others have either in the 100s, 10s and one even has but 8-10. More info is available in my sig link.

Don't worry with it. I've had it and they'll colonize fine.

Sweet, i thought I had lost a strain. Everyone says they start off as hard to see fuzzy spots, any reson why these are defined speckles? is that just the way EQ is?

Actually, hotnutz, are you sure, because I did a search for yeast contam and it sounds just like this and the guy had said that it only occured with his EQ syringe that he got from a supplier he didn't want to disclose. I might have gotten mine from the same batch...

It's a contaminant. Either yeast or a mold, but toss it out either way. RR

I've taken all 8 (only 1 now still shows no signs, but im sure it would have like the other 2) and tossed them. Ive saved 3 empty jars from the garbage, cleaned them with: bleach, antibac. soap, isopropyl and now a boil so I can put them in the freezer and try that smoke trick. Any one heard of it? I'm curious...

thats funny becase the same thing happond to me with the same strand really pissed me off becase i made 48 jars of eg and 48 of treasure coast and all 48 eq had the little white bumps and had to toss them all and the scuz ball vendor would not replace , one note is that this stuff must have like a 2 day cyckel becase it will show up in a big way on only day 4 and you dont see and signs from spore to about 6 to 10 days

Don't throw it away. That happens with my wild bird seed. It's not yeast or any other type of contaminate that will cause the seed not to colonize perfectly. Just allow them to finish and you'll see what I mean...

To late I can see. Those appear from time to time on my wild bird seed and pose no threat to mushroom colonization. You should've saved them....
It doesn't spread once present. Personally I think it's a starch, salt, sugar, or lignin. I don't know for sure what it is, but it doesn't effect the seeds ability to colonize fine.

With my health in the malance, I'd rather not chance it either way. I saved the worst of the EQs to see how it developed, and the yeast just got worse. I wouldn't have cased that stuff, even if myc had shown up, which it didn't.
