Hey guys i just bought this peat cause i think ill get better results with peat istead of coir..so ill use peat/verm instead of coir/verm..what do you guys think? better for casing layers? cause less nutrients and that will be less overlay?right?so is it the right kind?

Schultz works great. I prefer the peat to coir as well. Don't forget to add a little CaCO (crushed oys. shell, aglime, etc.) to your casing layer to raise PH since peat is acidic. I think you will be pleased. Much less prone to overlay.

Boiled, crushed egg shells works well too. It just takes quite a few eggs.

oystershells are gennerally easier to find than peat moss if you look at the right places. I am sure that if you grabed a phone book and called every where that might sell it some one will know something. It is the most commen ph balancer that you can find. Even my mom knows where to find it

type in your zip code at that site see if you get any hits
