They are smaller. Usually more numerous. They are very fast to pin, five to seven days from casing.

the mycilium on my casing layers is very whispy and kinda hard to see, will the mycilium get denser and more visible where pins are going to form?

Not really, one day there will be nothing, the next there will be one very small button, and a bunch of very small pins(dots). Mine pinned as early as five days from casing, and as late as 9 days on the cambodginiensis. The cyanescens are very fast, 5,6,7 days and you will see small shrooms. They never get rhizo like the cubensis. If you use a really thin casing layer, you can get alittle overlay in spots, but they pin to fast to run into trouble.

Thanks for the help. What substrate and casing material do you usually use for the best results. This was my first time working with pan cyans and i used verm and cow poo in half pint jars and when i cased i used a really thin layer of potting soil that just barely covered the surface of the substrate. Also ive been fanning about 3 times a day and giving the casings a light misting once a day. Any flaws in my methods?

Good bye.

I don't fan so much until after I see buttons. Usually I fan once manually in the first five days.
